All Trek U content is available in 13 languages. You can control:
- The language of the site (menu titles and page headers)
- The language of course content you want to learn in
It is recommended to change both settings.
Choose your preferred language (Course content)
This tells Trek U which language you want to complete your courses and lessons.
How to add your preferred language
- Select the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the upper right corner
- Select Profile
- Select Edit profile from the left-side menu
- Scroll to the bottom and select the Language dropdown
- Choose your preferred language
- Select Save
Your preferred language is now added to your profile.
Good to know
- This does not remove your default store language.
- It adds another language option for course content.
- In-language courses will begin to populate in your catalog.
- This process can take up to 8 hours after clicking Save.
Change the site language (Menus and page headers)
This controls the language used for:
- Menu titles
- Buttons
- Page headers
It does not control course content language.
Example:
German site language with English course content:

How to change the site language
- Go to your Trek U homepage
- Select the language selector in the bottom left corner
- Choose the language you prefer

Important
Changing this setting only changes the site interface.
You must still add your preferred language in your profile to receive in-language course content.
Find content in your preferred language
Once your preferred language has been added to your profile, use the catalog to find content in that language.
Use the catalog and filters
- Open the hamburger menu
- Select Catalog
- From the Categories menu on the left side of the page, choose your preferred language
Only languages you have added in your profile will appear as options.

Homepage tiles behavior
If you select courses from homepage tiles, you will be directed to content in your default store language.
To access content in your preferred language, always navigate through the catalog.
Good to know
If you recently added a preferred language, it may take up to 8 hours before content appears in that language.
How language affects curriculums and credit
Curriculums (for example: Explorer, Guide, Assembly) must be completed in one language to earn credit.
Changing languages does not transfer course or curriculum completions.
Example:
If you complete these Explorer courses in French:
- Bikes 101
- Daytime Running Lights
- FX
They will show as complete only in French.
They will not count toward the Explorer curriculum in German or any other language.
