Content level breakdown

Getting your retail education in Trek U can be challenging when you don’t know the system’s language. Here, we break down three common terms you’ll encounter while earning your education: lesson, course, and curriculum.

Lesson

A lesson is a learning object within a course. Videos and walk throughs in Trek U are considered lessons.

Course

A course is made up of one or more lessons and knowledge checks focused on a particular subject. When you complete a course, you have completed all the lessons and knowledge checks included in it.

Curriculum

A curriculum is a container for a group of related courses organized by subject (e.g. Assembly), job role (e.g. Service Tech), or competency (e.g. Service Guide). Every curriculum you complete earns a badge in your transcript. When you complete an Explorer or Guide curriculum, you also earn employee purchase discounts.

Course and curriculum statuses

Getting your retail education in Trek U can be challenging when you don’t know the system’s language. Here, we break down the four status stages that show where you are in courses and curricula.

Enroll

This will add the course to your My Courses: Currently enrolled courses carousel on your homepage. To start a course or curriculum, you must first enroll in it.

Start

Once you are enrolled in a course or curriculum, you are ready to start. It is that simple.

Resume

If you start a course or curriculum but have to step away, the status indicator will change to Resume. This allows you to pick up where you left off.

You can find everything you have started but not finished in the Resume Courses carousel on the homepage, or by selecting Catalog from the menu icon in the upper right corner and filtering by Status.

Completed

Once you finish all the lessons in a course or all the courses in a curriculum, the status shows as Completed. Congratulations!
