Description

Cadence sensors measure how fast a cyclist pedals. Their key function is to monitor pedaling speed. If abnormalities occur, such as inaccurate calculations, the pedal assist will temporarily pause to prevent safety and usability concerns.

⚠️Triggers of Error Code

The following are possible causes of error code 49:

  • Defective cadence sensor in torque sensor
  • Defective motor
  • Defective controller

1 Go for a Test Ride

Turn on the e-bike. Adjust the support level to 3 and go for a brief ride on a flat road to verify the presence of system assistance power output. If it's not functioning or if the error persists, proceed to the next step.

2 Run Sensor Diagnosis in the DST

Connect the e-bike to the Hyena Service Tool and perform the Sensor Diagnosis function for inspection. If the test fails, follow the HST instructions to replace the specified component. If this doesn't fix the issue, proceed to the next step.
(Perform Sensor Diagnosis manually to identify abnormalities in e-bike's torque, speed, or cadence Sensors)

3 Replace the Controller

Replace the [Controller] with a new spare, then reboot the e-bike to check if the error code still exists. If this doesn't fix the issue, proceed to the next step.

How to replace the controller?
