Connecting Apple Health to Ride Club
Ride Club can sync ride activity from Apple Health. Rides you record in other apps will automatically show up in Ride Club, no manual upload needed.
How it works
Apple Health acts as a hub. Other apps write your workout data into it, and Ride Club reads from it. When you connect, you'll choose which source apps you want Ride Club to pull rides from.
Supported source apps:
- Apple Watch
- Apple Fitness
- Apple Health
- Hammerhead Companion
- Ride with GPS
- Rouvy
- Zwift Companion
- TrainerRoad
- Coros
- Komoot
- MapMyFitness
Only rides from the apps you select will be imported. If you use an app that isn't on this list but it writes to Apple Health, reach out to support.
Connecting your account
Go to Settings > Integrations in Ride Club.
Select Apple Health.
Select Connect.
Grant Apple Health permissions when prompted (see Permissions below).
Choose which app(s) above you want to sync rides from.

What happens when you connect
Initial sync: Ride Club pulls in your full year-to-date ride history from the apps you selected, based on whatever permissions you've granted.
Ongoing sync: After that, Ride Club automatically syncs new rides as they're recorded in Apple Health. You don't need to do anything.
Permissions
Apple Health permissions control what data Ride Club can see and import.
Permission |
Required? |
What it does |
Workouts |
Required |
The minimum needed to create a ride in Ride Club. |
Distance, Workout Routes, Heart Rate, Cycling Power, Cycling Cadence, Cycling Speed |
Optional |
If granted, these enrich your ride with more detailed data, like a route map, heart rate, power, cadence, and speed. If not granted, your ride still imports, just with less detail. There's no cap on how much of this data is pulled in. It's limited only by which permissions you grant. |
Workouts permission required
Without the Workouts permission, Ride Club cannot create rides from Apple Health at all.
Managing your connection
From Settings > Integrations > Apple Health, open the Connected screen to:
Manage sources: add or remove which apps Ride Club syncs rides from.
View sync status: see the last successful sync time.
Force a sync: manually trigger a sync right away if you think something is missing.
Disconnect: turn off the Apple Health integration entirely, at any time.

FAQ / Troubleshooting
A ride is missing from Ride Club. Check that the app it was recorded in is one of your selected sources, and that you granted at least the Workouts permission. Try Force Sync from the Connected screen.
My ride data looks incomplete (no heart rate, power, etc.). This means the optional permission for that data type wasn't granted, or the source app didn't record it. Check your permissions in the iOS Health app under Settings > Privacy & Security > Health.
I changed my permissions in iOS. Will that update automatically? Ride Club picks up permission changes on the next sync. If you just changed something, try the Sync now button on the "Sync status" screen.
I see what looks like a duplicate ride. If the same ride is recorded by more than one connected app (for example both your Apple Watch and Zwift Companion), Ride Club automatically detects the overlap and keeps only one.
